TAMPA, Fla. — As a November vote calling for a 1% sales tax increase to be used for expanded Hillsborough Area Regional Transit rail and bus services approaches, the Tampa Bay Business Journal discussed how advocates of this referendum, dubbed “Greenlight Pinellas,” can learn from 2010’s failed “Move Hillsborough Forward” referendum.

The soundly rejected Move Hillsborough Forward referendum earmarked a penny sales tax for an improved transportation system that included rail, bus and roads.
