Flagship, based in Cranston, Rhode Island has agreed to an acquisition by DATTCO Inc.

The deal is expected to close on July 1, 2022. After more than 25 years of providing motorcoach service to Rhode Island clients, Flagship Bus, owned and operated by Tom McCaughey, will now operate as DATTCO Inc.

“As a family-owned business we appreciate the care and attention the DATTCO team will bring to this partnership and know this transition is in good hands.” said McCaughey, president/CEO of Flagship.

Motorcoach service will continue operation from Flagship’s current Cranston Rhode Island location, and all Flagship staff will remain in place. Over time, Flagship will be re-branded to spotlight DATTCO’s big red bus.

"We have a long-standing business relationship with Flagship,” said Donald DeVivo, president of DATTCO. “We hope to make this transition as seamless as possible.”

DATTCO offers experienced drivers, 24/7 operations, and maintenance support for all active charter trips. DATTCO also provides expanded nationwide support through its membership in the International Motorcoach Group (IMG). DATTCO is also the recipient of IMG’s annual Safety Award (2018).

Flagship’s drivers will continue providing service to their clients, with the only change being a new DATTCO uniform.

“We are looking forward to welcoming the Flagship team to our DATTCO family and to collaborating with them to bring a wider array of transportation solutions to Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts market,” said Dennis Lyons, VP for DATTCO’s Coach & Tour Group.
