Alejandro Solis' Experience with HDR

From the Washington, D.C. office, Solis has served in a leadership role for many of HDR’s major transportation projects, including as project manager for the Texas-Mexico Border Transportation Master Plan.

His industry publications and presentations include two to the Transportation Research Board, first related to localized U.S.-Mexico trade and then on the quantification of benefits realized from deploying WiFi to U.S. inland waterways.

Prior to joining HDR in 2010, he served in the administration of Mexican President Felipe Calderón as chief adviser to the Undersecretary of Transportation.

Solis earned a Ph.D. in economics from New York University, a master’s degree in economics from New York University, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Instituto Tecnolόgico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey.

“Major global events over the past few years — including the COVID pandemic and the breakdown of supply chains — have transformed the behavior of economic agents across the world, significantly impacting the transportation industry,” Solis said. “I look forward to leading our team to maximize solutions to our clients’ most pressing generational concerns.”
