At its Nov. 15 meeting, the Intercity Transit Authority voted unanimously to approve an employment contract with Emily Bergkamp, officially making her the new, permanent general manager, according to the agency's news release.

Bergkamp, who has served as the acting general manager since April, has been with the agency for 19 years in a variety of roles.

“We conducted an international search for our next general manager and received many qualified applicants. In the end, Emily brought the exact blend of talent, passion, and skills the organization needs now and into the future," said Board Chair Clark Gilman. "We are extremely confident in our selection and excited for Emily to lead us through the execution of our strategic plan. We have considerable work ahead as we adjust to a post-pandemic world while fulfilling the commitments made in 2018’s Proposition 1."
