New real-time information boards will display bus departure times at each of the Government Square Transit Center’s eight bus shelters.
The contract follows Seneca’s initial announcement in November 2011 of its intention to use funds from a $4.1 million FTA TIGGER ( grant, along with local matching funds, to purchase Proterra buses.
The tentative agreement establishes federal highway, transit and highway safety policy and keeps programs at current funding levels through the end of fiscal year 2014. If a majority of House and Senate conferees approve the conference report, both bodies are then expected to take up the measure before the end of the week, prior to the expiration of the current extension of transportation funding on June 30th.
A Sr. Democratic aide also reported that both the House and Senate are close to an overall deal but have not yet wrapped everything up.
The visit was arranged by the Greater Cincinnati World Affairs Council, a member of the National Council for International Visitors, under the sponsorship of the International Visitor Leadership Program of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
