NTSB to hold 3-day Emergency Responders course

Washington, D.C. – Former Transportation Secretaries Norman Mineta and Sam Skinner, along with Gov. Gerald L. Baliles, director of the University of Virginia’s Miller Center of Public Affairs, will hold a news conference Monday, October 4 to release a bipartisan report outlining ten recommendations to fix the nation’s ailing transportation system.

UTA to launch 2 new rail lines

The additional lines will substantially increase public transit service to the west side of the Salt Lake Valley. Beginning in October, UTA will begin an extensive public education and outreach effort to engage the public in the process of integrating the new rail service into the existing bus system.

Feds release final ARRA transit grant

Indiana’s Greater Lafayette Public Transportation Corp. will use the $2.2 million to install three wind turbine units that will cut energy costs for three transit buildings in Lafayette, Ind. The final grant was awarded competitively under the Transit Investment in Greenhouse Gas and Energy Reduction program.
