Valley Metro Regional Public Transportation Authority (RPTA) was selected as a Gold Winner in the EPA’s Race to Excellence for the second year in a row. The Race to Excellence is the EPA's national recognition program for employers and agencies who promote commuter benefits, transportation choices and the Best Workplaces for Commuters designation in their workplaces and throughout their local communities. Valley Metro, in Phoenix, was chosen for its commute trip reduction efforts – the Maricopa County Trip Reduction Program – and its work in encouraging employers to apply for the Valley of the Sun Best Workplaces for Commuters list. The EPA will present the Race to Excellence awards at the Association for Commuter Transportation International Conference in Boston this August.
