For almost a month, teams of volunteers have been visiting bus stops three days a week, however, the agency has upped its outreach with about 80 volunteers now on the move every day, boarding buses to connect with riders there.
The committee developed the survey with assistance from the Disability Advocacy Support Hub, a project of the Disabilities Rights Pennsylvania, through a grant from the PA Developmental Disabilities Council.
The survey also suggests that if there were more transit service, more people would use it, with just around 50% of those surveyed said they would be more likely to use public transit more often if either it was available closer to where they live, or if it operated more frequently.
This years' competition included 21 teams with 42 rail operators and 51 mechanics from the U.S., Canada and Japan. The competition was held at the Valley Metro Operation and Maintenance Center.

The new capability uses sophisticated accelerometer-based technology and integrates with rail vehicle safety systems to detect high-risk maneuvers that fall outside normal operating parameters.
The new CX45 is equipped with a Detroit Diesel DD13 engine paired with an Allison B500 G5 transmission.
