Operation recently undertook a major modernization project to unify each wheelchair lift at trolley stations to bring the entire system up to full ADA compliance.
Since implementing the technology, Coast Transit Authority has been able to achieve 15% reduction in costs associated with fuel consumption, operations, and staff time; 65% reduction in customer complaints; and 25% reduction in empty vehicles on the road.
The “How to Ride RIPTA Workshop” series, held March 5, created for the state’s senior community, was designed to empower the senior community to mobilize and remain independent. All attendees of this travel training program received a free step-by-step “How to Ride Guide.”

The service is run through Family Services of Westchester and helps clients coordinate the fastest and most cost-effective means of transportation — be it a local provider like a taxi, a paratransit vehicle or a ride from one of its volunteer drivers.
