London bus drivers held a rally today calling for increased pay.
The Transport and General Workers Union said bus drivers in the city earn an average of $24,800 annually, $355 a week less than the average wage for London and much less than subway train drivers.
London Underground workers have staged two 24 hour strikes in recent weeks to protest a 3% pay increase, which the unions deem too low. That increase raised the annual salary of train operators to $48,474, but the unions want an extra 2.7%.
