NTSB issues update on Philadelphia Amtrak crash investigation

An examination of the signals systems has revealed no anomalies or malfunctions. The NTSB has possession of the Amtrak engineer’s cell phone. Additionally, under its enforcement authority, the Federal Railroad Administration subpoenaed and obtained the engineer’s cell phone records and has shared that data with NTSB forensic experts.

The state-of-the-art World Trade Center Transportation Hub, when completed in 2015, will serve over 200,000 daily commuters and millions of annual visitors from around the world. At approximately 800,000 square feet, the Hub, which features a wing-like "Oculus” design, will connect visitors to 11 different subway lines, the Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) rail system and Battery Park City Ferry Terminal.

Audit finds NYC subway cleanliness 'woefully inadequate'

The vast majority of New York City’s underground subway tracks — filled with rats and vermin, dirt, garbage and other debris — are cleaned sporadically, and stations with peeling paint that desperately need attention are ignored, according to a new audit released Thursday by New York City Comptroller Scott M. Stringer.
