The mobile app will allow Oyster card customers to manage their travel fares and payments, top up their cards, and view their journey history on the go via Android or Apple iOS devices.
The extended contract period is from Nov. 2019 to Nov. 2024, and is valued at approximately $25 million per year.
The system incorporates nine transit agencies covering six counties within the Sacramento region serving a population of 2.5 million.
The agency said it has received 26 requests so far in 2017 from police forces for “tap history” from Presto cards and has granted 12 of the requests.

Participating agencies include RT, e-tran, El Dorado Transit, Folsom Stage Line, Placer County Transit, Roseville Transit, South County Transit Link, Yolobus, and Yuba-Sutter Transit.
