New legislation proposed by the state senate would give the state's executive inspector general authority to investigate the Chicago area's transit agencies. The proposal was created after financial abuse was exposed in an investigation involving Metra's late executive director.
Richard Katz’s work on the state panel overseeing development of California's high-speed rail system is the focus of a state attorney general review, since he also serves on the boards of the L.A. County MTA and Metrolink. He will leave the panel on Dec. 1.
