To inform the updated plan, SEPTA worked in close collaboration with Council Majority Leader Katherine Gilmore Richardson and other members of City Council to identify neighborhood locations for additional community meetings within four council districts.
The plan is part of TransLink’s newly released Bus Priority Vision, which identifies solutions to improve bus efficiency while highlighting the need to make buses more reliable in Metro Vancouver.
The new schedules enable the agency to dynamically add scheduled service to align with the growing rail operator workforce throughout the spring and summer.
The new lanes will move 50,000 weekly bus riders through the congested Sepulveda Blvd. corridor while improving bus speeds by 15% or more and increasing service frequency.
The R6 will provide space for 20% more riders on the busiest bus corridor south of the Fraser River.
The service improvements are possible because Caltrain is replacing all the aging diesel trains between San Francisco and San Jose with electric trains that provide better service performance and quality, according to the agency.
A groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of construction for the passing track near Glenn/Robert G. Holderness Station, while the agency also gets ready to add new vehicles and expand frequencies.
The combined scenarios received significant feedback from the public.
The new report gives an overview of measures that have been taken to mitigate delays and examines the effectiveness of those measures to help inform decision-making for future investments.
