ARBOC Specialty Vehicles LLC (ARBOC), a U.S. subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., announced that Virginia’s Radford Transit awarded ARBOC with an order for eight Spirit of Mobility ® low-floor, body-on-chassis (“cutaway”) transit buses. The order was procured through ARBOC’s U.S. dealer, Sonny Merryman.

The Mobility buses are low-floor vehicles capable of “kneeling,” making the boarding process efficient and fully accessible, while maintaining Radford’s 100% ADA-compliant fleet. The order will replace older, existing buses in the fleet and supplement three ARBOC buses purchased in 2017.

Operated by New River Valley Community Services (NRVCS), Radford Transit provides public transit to the citizens of Radford; Radford University students, faculty, and staff; and those who live in surrounding areas.

Radford Transit was established in 2011 through a joint partnership between Radford University, Radford City, the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation, and the Federal Transit Administration.
