MADRID — The Washington Post reports that EMT Madrid is the latest agency to launch a campaign urging passengers to stop “manspreading.”
Madrid officials announced that new signs would go up in its city buses, depicting a seated figure whose open legs are partially blocking the seats next to him. Next to the figure is a large red “X.” Similar signs are expected to appear on the city’s Metro system as well.
The decision to put up the signs came about after a women's group organized an online Change.org petition, which supported by more than 600 people. For the full story, click here.
