NEW YORK — The Daily News reported that the city’s Department of Transportation received an additional $1.4 million for new bus countdown clocks, giving the agency enough money to put them at more than 200 stops.
The “gizmo” got a test run on Staten Island two years ago and proved very popular. So far, just five bus stops in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Staten Island provide arrival times, though smartphone-equipped riders can track their bus on transit apps and the MTA’s Bus Time feature.
