LAKEWOOD, Wash. —  Pierce Transit has hired Susan Dreier as the transit agency's new CEO, The News Tribune reported.

Dreier comes to Pierce County after serving as COO at Salem-Keizer Transit, a public transportation system based in Salem, Ore. She started as a bus operator before serving as supervisor and manager in the Lane Transit District in Eugene, according to the report.

Dreier’s experience working her way through the ranks is seen as a major perk, which will give her "instant credibility with our employees,” a board officials said.
