MARTA to launch Georgia’s first BRT service

The new service includes two routes, which utilize advanced transportation technology to provide customers with a more convenient and efficient ride along the congested Memorial Drive corridor. A partnership between the FTA, GDOT, DeKalb County, the Atlanta Regional Commission and MARTA made the project possible.

S. Methodist U. students pass pro-transit bill

Of three bills passed with the intention of improving campus transportation, one bill asks for an extension of shuttle service to include weekend hours. Some senators argued that the extension, at an estimated $60,000 per month, will be too expensive.

The nine-foot by 18-foot individual module designed and installed by De Biasse & Seminara, comprised of four red and two clear panels and one column bundle, is intended to be arranged in various configurations or used solo, depending upon ridership, location and context at each individual stop.

NJ Transit approves Homeland Security training

Funded by a $9M grant received through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Transit Security Grant Program, the ProActive Terrorist Recognition and Interdiction Operations and Tactics (P.A.T.R.I.O.T.) System training will be made available to approximately 9,500 NJ Transit employees.
