Nashville transit sets ridership record

The Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority and Regional Transportation Authority of Middle Tennessee jointly recorded more than 10 million passenger trips in the last fiscal year, almost 1.3 million more trips than the previous year.

Honolulu extend bus routes to serve displaced students

Federal rules prohibit the City from providing bus service exclusively for school service, but DTS may increase bus service in areas where students will most likely ride City buses. DTS is targeting areas where ridership is expected to increase due to the DOE’s termination of certain school bus services.

TriMet wins union contract dispute

The agency’s Last Best Offer takes effect as the union contract. The new contract is retroactive to when the previous contract with the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 757 expired, November 30, 2009. The new contract expires November 30, 2012.

NJ Transit cracks down on ticket fraud

More than 200 arrests related to counterfeit activity have been made in the past two years. Agency train crews began using UV scanners to inspect weekly and monthly passes, which now contain an anti-counterfeit measure that can only be detected with these special UV scanners.
