Fla.’s PSTA launches 3 new bus routes

The North County Connectors will offer bus service to many communities that have never had transit service before. Since the routes feature smaller buses that can divert up to three-fourths of a mile off of the regular route, a greater portion of the residents in those communities will be able to take advantage of the service.

D.C. Metro gets high marks in customer survey

The Voice of the Customer report surveyed rail and bus riders about customer satisfaction, reliability, safety, cleanliness and customer service. 87% of bus and 86% of rail riders rated high satisfaction with security. 79% of bus and rail riders reported a high likelihood to recommend Metro to a friend.

Ill. rural transit faces deep cuts

CountyLink, Peoria County’s popular rural transit system, will need to make several service reductions, including cutting four of its six full-time routes. Even with the cuts, the system is expected to run out of money in June.

Wis. cities to restore bus, paratransit service

Many paratransit riders were forced to relocate after the cities of Weston, Schofield and Rothschild discontinued bus and paratransit service. Now, the municipalities are considering a plan that would restore service, but Rothschild would receive less paratransit service due to its location on the route.

Calif. senior transportation program goes national

Independent Living Partnership’s TripTrak subscription service was designed to facilitate complete administration and management of special needs senior transportation model programs. It originally assisted the TRIP Program in Riverside County. Eventually, other organizations operating TRIP model services asked for the software.

Iowa to add lift van

According to a councilmember, the council was surprised by the amount of calls the department had been receiving requiring the use of a lift van.

New TLPA president takes helm
