According to statistics released last week by the Chicago Police Department (CPD), which provides law enforcement across the CTA system, crimes decreased across the board during the month of August.
The initiative is a BIPOC youth-led initiative in partnership with community-based organizations and BART to end gender-based violence.
The CTA works closely with CPD to deter crime on or near CTA properties and will also assist in investigations when a crime occurs.
The website and the resources it houses were developed through a grant from the FTA.
In 2021, MPD reported a 17% reduction in Part 1 crimes compared to 2020, specifically a 32% reduction in robberies, and 20% reduction in aggravated assaults.
