Chicago’s Pace Suburban Bus ordered 13 Commuter Coaches, with an option for 37 more. Meanwhile, York County, Penn.’s rabbittransit took delivery of three new MCI Commuter Coaches, and Beaumont, Texas’ Sun Travel Trailways received its very first MCI J4500.

The first units of the $466 million order, to be used in the northeast, will be field tested this summer for entry into revenue service in the fall.

Delivery of the 40-foot vehicles is expected to begin in early 2014. As part of Chicago Transit Authority's bus modernization plan, the new LFS Smart Bus will replace older models of Nova LFS the agency has had in service for 14 years.

DNC Parks and Resorts at Yosemite National Park received six “talking” D4005 coaches. Pacific Coachways Trailways purchased four MCI 2013 J4500s.

Sudbury Transit’s new LFS Smart Buses include many improvements, from the driver partition to the rear of the vehicle. Inspired by aerospace and rail transportation, their design was optimized based on customer and focus group feedback.

The contract is valued at approximately $195 million and includes mobilization activities followed by 10 years of service.

The new Capital Area Transit fleet is fully accessible and can transport 14 people, including up to four people using wheelchairs.

The coach features Alcoa Durabright wheels, chrome mirrors and an ASA back up camera. Like the rest of Windstar’s fleet of luxury coaches, it has a multi-monitor DVD system, Hi-Fi Audio and CD player, and a full fabric interior.

Buses are anticipated to begin production in the fourth quarter of 2013 and will be completely manufactured and assembled at New Flyer of America’s St. Cloud, Minn. manufacturing facility.

The order for 12 Twindexx Vario trains was placed at the end of March 2013 and valued at approximately $145 million.
