DALLAS — The North Central Texas Council of Governments released its Mobility 2045 plan, which includes recommendations to create multiple light rail lines that would extend much farther into Collin County than Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) currently goes, reports NBC-DFW5.

The plan, which looks at the transportation needs of the region more than 20 years into the future, focuses on rail extensions, in addition to the creation of new lines, including the tentatively titled McKinney Line that would extend the current DART Red Line and a Frisco Line.

The projected cost of the McKinney Line would be $1.8 billion, while the Frisco Line would cost $1.2 billion, according to the Mobility 2045 report. For the full report, click here.
