Complete Coach Works (CCW) has made the final delivery of two rehabbed 60-foot articulated New Flyer buses to Pennsylvania’s Capital Area Transit (CAT). The contract for the two buses was awarded late last year.

Work on the buses included repowering the engines to Cummins Recon ISL, in addition to the installment of rebuilt Allison transmissions. Other upgrades included new driver seats, reupholstered and repainted passenger seats, new interior and exterior LED lighting, ADA compliant wheelchair ramps, new brakes and suspensions, steering components, and destination signs.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the 60-foot articulated vehicles will provide more space for riders and allow for greater social distancing. The vehicles will also enhance the passenger experience by improving customers’ comfort and safety in a cost-effective manner.
