TriMet Celebrates Transit Driver Appreciation Day

TriMet released a video on March 17 to show its appreciation for operators on Transit Driver Appreciation Day.

TriMet employs nearly 1,400 operators, according to its news release.

To celebrate the day, which is typically on March 18, TriMet said it is building a human “appreciation tunnel,” from 6 a.m. through 6 p.m. along a nine-block stretch of Southwest 5th and 6th avenues, between Jefferson and Washington streets.

This is the agency's 10th annual observation of Transit Driver Appreciation Day.
