Study: 'Millennials' driving less, want alternatives

Research revealed that 45 percent of Millennials (ages 18 to 34) said they had consciously made an effort to reduce how much they drive and 64 percent would drive less if alternative options, including public transportation, car sharing or convenient carpooling (ridesharing), were available in their area.

BART: Not enough fare cheats to fix smart cards

Agency officials claim that the number of fare evaders is still too small to justify making the necessary changes to the smart card. BART and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission are monitoring the problem and will make changes if abuse increases.

FRA releases $50M for positive train control

Awards vary in size and scope ranging from $500,000 to $2M , and include private corporations, academic institutions and public authorities. Recipients include Southern California Regional Rail Authority, Amtrak and New York Metropolitan Transit Authority.
