For instance, buses on the road powered by alternative fuels rose from 2% in 1992 to 36% in 2011. That compares to the percentage of cars capable of being powered by alternative fuels was only 3.2% in 2011.

S.F. MTA approves New Flyer hybrid order

Production of the 40-foot Xcelsior hybrid buses is anticipated to begin in early 2013 and will be manufactured and assembled bumper-to-bumper in New Flyer’s St. Cloud, Minn. manufacturing facility. All buses are expected to be delivered by the end of the summer 2013.

Md. MTA 'pace bus' to lead pre-race parade
