Feds grant $15M to tribal governments

The money, which is awarded through the FTA's Tribal Transit Program, will provide grants to tribes in 25 states for 67 separate projects. The projects will focus on maintaining existing transit operations during the economic downturn and enhancing services for seniors and people with disabilities.

Houston light rail expansion to receive full funding

The total construction cost for two lines is $1.6 billion. Each line is receiving a $450 million FFGA. The federal government has already set aside $484.5 million for the two projects as part of the FFGAs. Of that amount, Metro has received $84.5 million.
