U. of N. Iowa dedicates transit center

Features 587 parking spaces, an elevator, vending machines, a waiting area and restrooms in the pavilion as well as 10 lockers for bicycles. Additional improvements were made during construction to areas adjacent to the facility for added pedestrian safety.

Green Bay renews U-Pass agreement with city

UW-Green Bay will reimburse the city $35,000. The subsidy is made possible with revenue from the sale of campus parking permits and by student leaders delegating a portion of their activity fees toward unlimited use of city bus services.

Alstom to supply 168 railcars to India

The $308M contract includes an option for 16 additional metro cars. The new trains will be equipped with Automatic Train Protection and Automatic Train Operation features. The first deliveries are planned for the end of 2012.

CVSA to kick off ‘Brake Safety Week’

Taking place Sept. 12 to 18 throughout North America, the event focuses on enhancing knowledge, regulatory compliance and performance of commercial vehicle braking systems. CVSA-certified inspectors, brake suppliers and industry partners will conduct enforcement and education activities with drivers and mechanics at truck stops, weigh stations and other locations.

MBTA makes 'real-time' bus information available

Following a project to equip more than 1,000 buses with GPS technology in 2009, dispatchers in the MBTA's Bus Operations Control Center were able for the first time to pinpoint the location of every MBTA bus in real-time. As of today, that same information is available to T bus riders, regardless of route.
