Requa, who has been Metro's assistant GM, bus services since 2010, has held the job on an interim basis before in 2006 when interim GM Dan Tangherlini left to become D.C. city administrator in the Adrian Fenty administration.

The program is funded by the Sonoma County general fund and will assist the Supervisors and Sonoma County Transit in determining the affect a free fare program has on ridership, traffic reduction near college campuses and community response to the program.
Current COO Tom Gill will replaces current President/Co-founder Terry Akiyama, who is retiring but will transition to his new role as chairman.
