PSTA, SEIU Celebrate New Pay Scale for Bus Operators

The board at St. Petersburg, Fla.’s Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) unanimously approved a three-year contract with its union, SEIU, which will bump the starting pay for bus operators from $15 per hour to $16 per hour, beginning Oct. 1. Operators will also see another pay increase to $16.50 per hour after six months, which means a guaranteed pay increase to $27.55 within 4.5 years. The PSTA and SEIU marked the occasion and official signing with a celebration and photos.
