Transdev announced the retirement of President-emeritus Michael Setzer after a nearly 50-year career in the transit industry.

Prior to his appointment as President of Transdev, he served in chief executive roles in many U.S. transit systems including Cincinnati and St. Louis, and was a founder of Professional Transit Management, now a part of Transdev. He was GM of Minneapolis-St Paul’s Metro Transit during the construction and commissioning of its first LRT line, the Blue line, and CEO of Long Island’s Nassau Inter-County Express, the nation’s largest public-private operating partnership.

Setzer’s projects won APTA’s Innovation award twice and in 2014 METRO Magazine selected him as one of the most influential leaders of the decade.

Transdev expressed deep gratitude for his many contributions to and accomplishments in the company and the industry and extended their best wishes as he starts his new adventure.
