
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Metro officials are expected to announce the appointment of Jack Requa as interim GM for the transit agency until a replacement for Richard Sarles is found, according to the Washington Post.
Requa, who has been Metro's assistant GM, bus services since 2010, has held the job on an interim basis before in 2006 when interim GM Dan Tangherlini left to become D.C. city administrator in the Adrian Fenty administration.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Metro officials are expected to announce the appointment of Jack Requa as interim GM for the transit agency until a replacement for Richard Sarles is found, according to the Washington Post.
Requa, who has been Metro's assistant GM, bus services since 2010, held the job on an interim basis before in 2006 when interim GM Dan Tangherlini left to become D.C. city administrator in the Adrian Fenty administration, the report said.
As the head of Bus Services, Requa is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the sixth largest bus system in the U.S. The Metrobus fleet is made up of more than 1,500 buses that serve more than 360 bus routes and 12,000 bus stops across 1,500 square miles. Requa is responsible for the overall planning, operation, parts distribution and maintenance programs of Metrobus services.
Before coming to Washington, Requa was the Director of Bus Service for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority in Boston. In addition, he has held senior management positions with transit authorities in Houston, St. Louis, Everett, Wash., and Saudi Arabia.
