DART taps Stadler for rail maintenance contract
This is the first maintenance contract for the company in the U.S.
The new contract is the last piece of an overall package to provide turnkey vehicles and maintenance services to DART.

Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s (DART) board approved a $112 million contract to Stadler, which includes vehicle maintenance over a 15-year service period of the previously awarded eight DMU FLIRT vehicles, as well as for the Equipment Maintenance Facility (EMF) vehicles. The contract also includes two options to modify the vehicles to add luggage racks, bicycle stands, and wheel skirts.
With the maintenance contract for these vehicles and the EMF, Stadler enters the maintenance services sector in the U.S. for the first time.
The new contract is the last piece of an overall package to provide turnkey vehicles and maintenance services to DART. The vehicles and EMF are to operate DART’s Cotton Belt Regional Rail Silver Line Project.
