Fla. agency, county reach agreement on proposed tax
Approval of the 1% tax levy would provide a funding source for countywide transportation projects outlined in the Greenlight Pinellas plan, which include local passenger rail and regional connections.

CLEARWATER, Fla. — If voters approve a 1% transit surtax during this November’s election, Pinellas County Commissioners voted to approve an interlocal agreement with Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) to govern its usage, reported TBNweekly.
Approval of the 1% tax levy would provide a funding source for countywide transportation projects outlined in the Greenlight Pinellas plan, which include local passenger rail and regional connections, as well as an expanded bus system with bus rapid transit, increased frequency and extended hours.
