As rail program manager, Greg Lorenzi will support clients in advancing large scale projects and programs that improve and enhance transit and rail infrastructure and passenger experience.

Lorenzi brings more than 30 years of experience in rail systems, transit, urban infrastructure, and strategic development to his new role.
As rail program manager, Lorenzi will support clients in advancing large scale projects and programs that improve and enhance transit and rail infrastructure and passenger experience.
“Greg’s expertise in steering high-profile rail and infrastructure programs, coupled with his adept management acumen, will bring significant value to our clients and firm,” said Albert Sosa, HNTB’s Chicago office leader and sr. VP. “His skill in understanding project intricacies and proactive approach in developing rail solutions for some of the most complex projects, ultimately enhances mobility and connectivity for the community.”
Prior to joining HNTB, Lorenzi had more than two decades of experience working on various CTA projects.
During this time, he served in construction and program management capacities ranging from resident engineer to program manager.
Lorenzi’s relevant experience includes his time at a construction company, where he led the Chicago Transit Partners in implementing the CTA Capital Improvement Program.
Throughout his involvement with the program, his responsibilities ranged from directing comprehensive planning and design initiatives to directly supervising the execution of the $2.1 billion Red and Purple Modernization Phase One Project. He focused on intricate tasks such as staging, phasing, and technical evaluations.

The region’s fixed-route system finished out the year with a total of 373.5 million rides. Adding 12.3 million rides over 2024 represents an increase that is equal to the annual transit ridership of Kansas City.
