XL Hybrids
The XL3 Hybrid Electric Drive System is now available for the GM 3500/4500 Cutaway/Cab Chassis. This new offering enables universities, transit agencies and for-hire transportation companies that use small shuttle buses to slash fuel costs. For fleets that use FTA funding, the XL3 can be purchased by transit agencies for less than $5,000.

RideCell
RideCell's fleet automation software (dispatch, GPS, routing, scheduling, notifications and real-time carpooling) reduces expenses & workload and improves rider experience. The service is designed to provide a communication platform to connect and match users of the service who are looking for a ride with third-party university or public and private transportation providers.

Ricon–Vapor
The new Titanium S-Series and K-Series wheelchair lifts provide a space-saving footprint and lasting value. The lifts’ designs comply with all applicable ADA and FMVSS regulations and include many exclusive best-in-class features. The lifts feature true 1,000-pound capacity, a Dura-Touch hand control pendant, quiet-ride anti-vibration bumpers and a full three-year warranty.

Radio Engineering Industries
Whether entertainment or infotainment, REI delivers. The company offers an array of HD monitors, speakers, DVD players, media players, and HDMI components to compliment your fleet’s needs.

Mobility Ventures
The MV-1 redefines accessible transportation with a built-in side-entry power ramp, ample head room, and seating for up to five, which includes the ability to safely accommodate two wheelchair users at a time. It is available with a standard gasoline engine or factory-installed compressed natural gas option.

Mercedes-Benz Vans
In addition to three Sprinters on the BusCon show floor, Mercedes-Benz Vans also featured the all-new Metris seven-passenger van. The vehicle includes a suite of standard safety technologies, such as curtain airbags all around, Load-Adaptive Electronic Stability Program with Crosswind Assist, and Attention Assist. Additional safety features, includes active parking assistance and collision prevention, making it ideal for shuttle usage.

Karsan USA
Karsan USA showcased the new CS City Service Bus — an approximately 20-foot, low-floor minibus with seating for up to 15 passengers. Designed for ease of entry and exit, the CS provides wheelchair access and is ideal for feeding into the main lines of a transit system by providing transportation from smaller residential areas and during hours of low passenger demand. By optimizing fuel consumption with the smaller design, transit systems can efficiently offer public transportation to riders who come from neighborhoods that are far from the urban center.

Indbus NA
Macedonia-based Indbus NA had two vehicles new to the market, including its Inovo FS2 Tour Coach XL Model, which features seating for up to 45 Passengers plus the driver and 233 cubic feet of luggage space. Built on the Freightliner S2 chassis the coach is wheelchair accessible and features a Cummins ISB 6.7L, 300 horsepower engine coupled to a 320 AMP alternator.

Hometown Trolley
The Streetcar Trolley has a full stainless steel low-floor, patent-pending, monocoque chassis design, exceeding the required 1:6 ratio for ADA loading, with a fold-out wheelchair ramp. The trolley is available with a newly-developed series hybrid-electric system with a range exceeding 120 miles and a short recharge time of four to six hours.

Glaval Bus
Built on the Freightliner MB65 front-engine chassis, the Apollo featured at BusCon included a Cummins ISB 6.7L new emission diesel engine, standardized rear air-suspension, a 26,000 GVWR and seating for up to 40 passengers, plus driver. Glaval’s offerings also included the Titan II LF model and the Legacy model.

Ford Commercial Vehicles
Ford featured three vehicles on the show floor, including the 2015 Ford Transit, which is available in three roof heights, two wheelbases and three lengths. The Transit on the show floor had room for 13 passengers, with room for luggage in the rear.

Diamond Coach
Diamond Coach provides paratransit and executive coach lines on both Ford and GM chassis, featuring vacuum-cured composite coach bodies. This includes composite wheel wells, composite entry steps and composite skins for rear and W/C doors, providing a quiet and comfortable ride.

BYD
BYD’s new 23-foot battery-electric coach utilizes the company’s proprietary Iron-Phosphate Battery and meets over-the-road and shuttle applications with a range of 124.3 miles on a single charge. After 12 years of use, battery capacity is projected to remain about 80%, so there’s no need for battery replacement. The new coach, which was outfitted with a mobile office interior, is also compliant with FMVSS, CMVSS and ADA regulations.

ARBOC Specialty Vehicles
The Spirit of Liberty is built on the Freightliner XBA rear-engine chassis and can accommodate 37 passengers, with six wheelchair positions. The company’s patented technology offers an angled entranceway while exceeding ADA guidelines with a 1:6 ramp slope for passengers in need of extra assistance and wheelchair accessibility. The vehicle also features a low-floor and zero steps throughout.

Telma Inc.
Telma’s induction braking system product range includes more than 250 retarder variations for road vehicles, providing braking torques of 350 Nm to 3300 Nm. Designed to be mounted on driveshafts, gearboxes or drive axles, this wide range provides solutions to a large variety of vehicle configurations. The company also designs and markets on-board electronic systems that ensure the compatibility of its braking systems with ABS, EBS and ESP systems.

Rosco Vision Systems
The Mobileye Shield+ Collision Avoidance System with pedestrian and cyclist side-sensing is the latest technological advancement for preventing vehicle-to-pedestrian incidents. This unique, multi-vision-sensor system provides drivers with alerts when pedestrians and cyclists are in the danger zones on the sides and front of the bus. The company featured this system during the BusCon Ride & Drive held throughout both days of the show.

Q’Straint/Sure-Lok
Quantum lets wheelchair and scooter passengers board the bus or train, position their chair and simply push a button to secure themselves in a stable and safe rear-facing position in under 25 seconds. By securing the chair within its arms and continually adjusting its grip as needed during the ride, Quantum virtually eliminates the risk of wheelchair tip-over.

New Flyer Industries
New Flyer showcased its MiDi bus being used by Western Illinois University’s Go West Transit, featuring two doors and fold-up seats for easier wheelchair access. Designed by Alexander Dennis and manufactured in North America by New Flyer, the MiDi is available in 30- and 35-ft. lengths and couples a Cummins ISB Diesel, 250 hp engine to an Allison B300R six-speed transmission.

Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp.
Freightliner’s chassis featured several chassis around the show floor, including a collaboration with Caio and Turtle Top for a G3400 motorcoach with an XBR raised-rail, rear-engine chassis. The XBR is powered by a Cummins 8.9L ISL engine offering 330 HP and 1,000 LB-FT of torque, and also features an Allison B400 automatic transmission and GVWR up to 37,000 lbs.

FCA Fleet
The Ram ProMaster® features a standard V6 engine and boasts a class-exclusive front-wheel-drive system, which allows for responsive handling. One of the models on the show floor featured 2+1 seating, with room for 12 passengers, while the other accommodated six passengers and was ideal for paratransit usage, with a lift in the rear of the vehicle.

Complete Coach Works
Complete Coach Works featured one of the 13 ZEPS electric buses it has delivered to IndyGo on the BusCon show floor. Since rollout of the buses in early June, performance has exceeded 130 miles on a single, four-hour charge of the 12 Lithium-Ion batteries. The vehicles also feature lightweight flooring and seats.
