The Hyperloop concept, developed by entrepreneur Elon Musk, is a mass-transportation system that can transport passengers between San Fransisco and Los Angeles in less than 40 minutes. Passengers would ride in aluminum pods in sealed tubes, traveling at speeds of up to 800 mph.

Chicago Transit Authority launched its new courtesy campaign May 2015, which aims to encourage riders to be considerate of other riders. The campaign, featuring a series of messages to be placed on buses and trains, reflects some of the most commonly heard complaints from riders about the behaviors of fellow public transit passengers.

The state-of-the-art World Trade Center Transportation Hub, when completed in 2015, will serve over 200,000 daily commuters and millions of annual visitors from around the world. New York City's Second Avenue Subway will be the first major expansion of the subway system in over 50 years. When fully completed, the line will stretch 8.5 miles along the length of Manhattan's East Side, from 125th Street in Harlem to Hanover Square in Lower Manhattan. In addition, a track connection to the existing 63rd Street and Broadway Lines will allow a second subway line to provide direct service from East Harlem and the Upper East Side to West Midtown via the Broadway express tracks.

The Dubai tramway is the first tram in the world able to run in temperatures of up to 50 °C (122 °F) and to withstand harsh climate conditions. Equipped with Alstom's APS ground-level power supply, the system is also the first in the world to be catenary-free all along the line, enabling perfect integration of the tramway into the cityscape.
