The American Public Transportation Association honored transit agencies and industry leaders at the 2023 APTA Honors.

This work is part of New York City Transit (NYCT)’s Re-NEW-Vation Program, which utilizes planned weekend service outages to perform upgrades, repairs, and enhanced cleaning in stations within a 55-hour window.


Representatives of St. Louis Downtown Airport, Bi-State Development, the Illinois Department of Transportation, state and local elected officials, and invited guests were on hand for the ceremony at the new engine run-up area.


The grant funds are provided through the FTA’s competitive 2023 Low or No Emission and Grants for Buses and Bus Facilities Competitive Program, which is funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.


LIRR Customer Service Ambassador Clifton Jerrick served as catcher, while LIRR Conductor Michael Ackerler was a guest. And of course, Mr. and Mrs. Met were there as well.
