The transaction is part of Alstom’s commitments to the European Commission in relation to Alstom’s acquisition of Bombardier Transportation.
Alstom will continue to honor its obligations under the existing orders for Rolling Stock from Trenitalia and ILSA to ensure a seamless transition.
In his role, Michael Keroullé is a member of Alstom’s Executive Committee and Leadership Team, reporting to Henri Poupart-Lafarge, Alstom’s Chairman of the Board and CEO.
The contract is valued at approximately $105 million and includes operations and dispatching as well as maintenance of the Innovia vehicle fleet, guideway, signaling system, and facilities.
As previously announced, the headquarters of Alstom of the Americas will be based in Montréal, Québec.
The agency will deploy 205 new SkyTrain cars for its Expo and Millennium Lines.
Following positive progress on antitrust regulation process, the closing of the transaction is now expected for Q1 2021, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, with an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting to be held in October.
Closing of the acquisition of Bombardier Transportation remains on track for the first half of 2021.
The two contracts represent a combination of eight cab cars and 20 coaches and include options for 33 additional railcars.
The suspension includes Bombardier’s aircraft and rail production activities in the provinces of Quebec and Ontario.
