Ecolane announced the successful completion of a five-year initiative with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).

The company installed the first cloud-based scheduling and dispatch software, statewide, for 42 transportation providers at 51 locations that will not only elevate, but also enhance the efficiency and safety of the paratransit services in Pennsylvania.

”We are always looking for ways to use technology to improve transportation services, including public transit,” PennDOT Secretary Leslie S. Richards said. “This project is putting valuable tools in the hands of our service partners while enhancing customer service.”

Ecolane serves 65 counties in Pennsylvania. Over the course of the project, Ecolane has dispatched more than 6.1 million trips, spanning more than 45 million trip miles.

“Endless Mountains Transportation marks our 42nd and last transportation provider in Pennsylvania to complete our initiative, which went live late last month,” said Steve Ross, CEO of Ecolane. “It is our understanding that statewide software in Pennsylvania is unique in the transit industry, and it is a powerful example of how public and private sectors can come together in a joint effort to enhance the transportation needs of communities on a local, personal level.”

PennDOT notes that the use of shared scheduling software facilitates service coordination and consolidation while ensuring a cohesive customer experience. Ecolane is proud of the improvements made to the transportation agencies, servicing the Pennsylvania communities, as a direct result of their partnership with PennDOT.
