Russia creates transport union The Transport Ministry of the Russian Federation created a Eurasian Transport Union (ETU). Endorsed by about 40 Asian and European countries, the goal of the ETU is to speed up projects aimed at the creation of international Eurasian transport corridors leading from Europe to Asia through Russian territory. Delhi buses must use natural gas The deadline passed in May for all public transport vehicles in the Indian capital of Delhi to be converted to run on compressed natural gas. The order is part of a campaign to reduce soaring pollution levels in the city. The vehicles must all pass emissions-standards and safety tests to remain on the road. India's Supreme Court ordered half the city's 12,000 buses off the roads for continuing to produce diesel fumes. Japanese railway runs women-only trains West Japan Railway began running women-only cars during morning rush hours to protect women from gropers. The rail company will operate the cars -- off limits to men -- weekdays between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. in the western metropolis of Osaka. West Japan is the third railway to introduce such cars in recent years, as female passengers increasingly speak out against the groping that often occurs on Japan's jam-packed trains.
