Texas transit agencies unveil mobile ticketing app

Dallas Area Rapid Transit, Fort Worth Transportation Authority, and Denton County Transportation Authority will make GoPass available starting Sept. 16. In recent years, the three agencies have collaborated to improve payment options for customers by issuing a common regional pass and deploying ticket vending machines that accept credit/debit cards.

Chicago transit’s Ventra now available to all riders

The CTA and Pace first introduced Ventra last month to select customers, including Chicago Public School students, U-Pass users and Chicago Card Plus customers. Ventra will replace all CTA and Pace existing fare media by Dec. 15, 2013.

In response to a spike in demand for campus transportation, Youngstown State University expanded its shuttle service and distributed more parking passes. The university is covering the costs of these services with a new transportation fee, which includes a parking permit and unlimited access to the shuttle.
