Boston’s Bridj unveiled a new app, which is currently available for download on iOS and Android. With the new app, customers can tell Bridj where they want to go, select the trip that best meets their needs and purchase a ticket.

The app will also allow customers to track their Bridj in real time and book trips days or minutes in advance.

The app will create a more dynamic system, enabling customers to no longer have to choose to ride on a specific route, according to Bridj. The app will find a Bridj that meets a customers’ needs and, in advance of booking, get directions to the pick-up location and exactly where riders will be dropped off. The company promises that it will get its customers anywhere in its service area with no more than a 12 minute walk on either end of the trip.

In conjunction with the app release, Bridj will start offering evening service, something many customers have been greatly looking forward to these past few months. Evening service will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. As always, morning service runs from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Starting today, Bridj will also begin moving to customized vehicles built specifically with the user in mind. Each new Bridj has Wi-Fi, premium seating and automatic doors.
