CHK America will use its Best Practice approach to customer information design to create a wayfinding signage program consisting of three levels of information distribution. Tier one incorporates stops that are hubs for routes and connections making them the busiest stops with the most complex level information to communicate. While all tiers will receive stop-specific service information, tiers two and three represent stops that are less complex and will require fewer products to accurately communicate the at-stop service.

CHK America is a provider of customer information solutions for the U.S. public transportation industry. The company’s 8 Second Rule, has set the standard for communicating complex public transit information to customers, after their research identified that customers allow only eight seconds in which to interpret travel information before becoming frustrated – resulting in customer dissatisfaction.

Between customized information design and purpose-built hardware fabrications, the company is providing solutions for many of the largest multi-modal transit agencies in the U.S. from WMATA in Washington, D.C. to DART in Dallas, to LA Metro in Los Angeles.
