HONOLULU — The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) was served with a second subpoena asking the agency to send investigators documents relating to its real estate acquisition program, KITV reports.
HART said some of the documents show it overspent on relocating residents and businesses along the rail route, which may have cost up to $4 million.
The first subpoena sought records that date back to the early days of the project, including consultant contracts, a list of contractors and subcontractors, contractor change orders, and supporting documents. It also sought archaeological studies and correspondence with the Federal Transit Administration in connection with the agreement to provide federal funding for the project.
