GreenPower Motor Co. Inc. delivered two EV Star All-Electric Min–eBuses to the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), San Francisco’s second-largest employer.

The zero-emission EV Stars will help UCSF reach the University of California (UC) system’s ambitious goal to be carbon neutral by 2025. To meet this target, UC must reduce greenhouse gas emissions across all 10 campuses, including tackling emissions from the UC-owned transportation fleet, which services over 250,000 students. UCSF operates a fleet of 60 buses, and intends to convert the entire fleet to zero-emission electric buses over the next 10 years.

“We are excited to be working with a prominent customer like UCSF in helping them achieve their carbon neutral ambitions,” said Ryne Shetterly, VP, sales and marketing. “With a $90,000 voucher available from the state of California, an EV Star offers operators a multifunctional zero-emission shuttle vehicle at a lower price point and reduced cost of ownership than comparable diesel-powered alternatives.”

The EV Star is an all–electric, zero emission, 25-foot bus that seats up to 19 passengers, with an operational range of 100 to 150 miles on a single charge. The versatile vehicle can be used for microtransit services, paratransit, vanpool, shuttle, school, employee transportation, tourist operations, or cargo transport.
