Starting July 1, 2018, North American Setra distributor, REV Coach LLC, will also be responsible for the brand’s after-sales services. REV Coach is already holding the Setra sales rights since January this year.
With this step, the transition of the North American Setra bus business from Motor Coach Industries International Inc. (MCI) to REV Coach is complete. REV Coach LLC is a joint venture between Daimler Buses and REV Group, the new strategic business partner of Daimler AG’s bus division in the U.S. and Canada. The newly founded company is dedicated to the sales of new Setra motor coaches and now will provide technical support and service, manage parts supply and is planning to intensify the used bus business.
Daimler Buses holds twenty percent shares in REV Coach, which emphasizes the strategic importance of the cooperation. Duane Geiger was appointed as GM for REV Coach. The Distribution Center for new Setra coaches is located at REV Coach’s facility in Alvarado, Texas, 20 miles south of Dallas. Additionally, service and support will be provided across North America through REV Group’s network of regional service centers, as well as a selection of privately-owned service centers. Furthermore, Setra customers will now benefit from the logistics network of REV Parts in North America through which Setra parts are distributed.
The joint commitment of Daimler Buses and REV Group regarding the luxury bus and coach market is that the strengths of both brands create benefits for customers, in line with the maxim: “Two strong brands. One great team.” Setra customers benefit from the financial strength, efficiencies and innovation of the REV Group, as well as the comprehensive REV product portfolio that includes parts, financing, leasing and additional bus products, according to a company statement.
