METRO Magazine named Nashville’s Anchor Transportation as its 2026 Innovative Operator of the Year, honoring the company’s outstanding leadership in safety, operational efficiency, and people-first culture.
METRO’s Executive Editor Alex Roman presented the award to Anchor’s President Jared Stancil during the American Bus Association’s Marketplace, which is taking place in Reno, Nevada.
Embracing a Value-Driven Approach
Under Stanci’s leadership, the Nashville-based company has embraced a values-driven approach — centered on safety, excellence, and service — while undergoing a complete digital transformation.
Anchor now uses a fully integrated tech ecosystem, including Samsara, Fleetio, and Coach Manager, to streamline operations, enhance driver performance, and boost customer satisfaction.
Meanwhile, the operation’s Driver Performance Scorecard, real-time customer feedback tools, and connected maintenance systems have elevated both safety and service. The company reduced preventable accidents by over 35% year-to-date and continues to invest in advanced training and fleet reliability, including 920-plus hours of certified tech training and 25-plus predictive maintenance services per vehicle.
Anchor has also expanded its footprint with new commuter contracts and a 32% revenue increase, all while maintaining a deep commitment to its employees and community. With a growing fleet, a strong culture, and a focus on continuous improvement, Anchor exemplifies what it means to innovate with purpose.
“This award reinforces our belief that innovation is about thoughtfully combining people, process, and technology,” said Stancil. “We’re proud of where we are — but even more focused on where we’re going.”
